The Ministry of Union Affairs and ICP (Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship and Port Security) announced in GITEX Global 2025 that Golden Visa holders will get added benefit of consular help when they’re outside the country. The Emirates News Agency declared this as first of its kind help for residency visa holders that also fit the country’s focus on community and inclusion in the year 2025.

2.     New UAE Golden Visa categories explained

Initially the UAE had introduced Golden Visa for the entrepreneurs, investors, scientists, exceptional students and humanitarian pioneers. These services have been expanded to include other specific groups like educators, long-serving nurses, gamers and content creators under the 2025 expansion.

Under the recent updates, Waqf donors can now qualify for the Golden visa under a new donation based category if they meet certain official conditions.

3.     What’s New in UAE Visit Visas

The ICP (Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship and Port Security) announced in September 2025, that four new visa categories will be made for other specialists. The UAE has announced that certain professions like AI specialists, entertainment professionals, event attendees and cruise tourism visitors will now be eligible for visit visa categories. Other changes have also been made for other entry visas including those for friends of UAE residents, humanitarian residence permits, etc.

The GCC tourist visa is a Schengen style GCC visa for travel across multiple Gulf countries which is likely to be launched as a trial later this year. This visa is designed to simplify the regional travel across the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain, easier and more connected.

Jassim Al-Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council has confirmed that the GCC unified tourist visa is very close to launch and the final approval is still on the way. Once the GCC tourist visa has been implemented, the travelers will be apply for the unified GCC visa through online platform that will work as a unified system for the GCC nations.

6.     Dubai Launched AI-Powered Visa Applications

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) has launched a new AI-based “Salama” program to streamline the visa process with the help of AI. This digital platform will help the residents get faster visa renewals and quick online services with less paperwork. This will make the visa process more efficient and the visa users will be able to use the visa with the help of biometrics data for border clearance.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) has now linked the immigration services with Dubai police. This means residents may need to clear their outstanding fines before completing their visa renewal process. It does not block the renewal process but will act as a prompt to settle the fines before completing the transactions related to residency.
